Terms and conditions

Version 2026-10-29

These terms govern the use of Haircutz, a platform for booking services at barbershops and hair salons in Portugal. By creating an account or making a booking, you accept these terms. You must be at least 16 to create an account. Shops that use Haircutz have their own terms.

1. What Haircutz is

Haircutz is a technology intermediary. Haircut and barber services are provided by the shops themselves, which are businesses independent of Haircutz. The contract for the service is between you and the shop; Haircutz does not provide those services and is not responsible for how they are carried out.

2. Your account

  • You must give true details (name, email, phone and NIF), confirm your email with the code we send you when you sign up, and choose a second step for signing in: a 6-digit PIN or a passkey.
  • Each email, phone number and NIF can only be used on one account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password, your PIN and the devices that hold your passkeys safe, and for not reusing the PIN on other services. After several failed login attempts (password or PIN) the account is locked and can be unlocked by resetting your password with the link we email you.
  • The account is personal and must only be used by you.

3. Bookings

  • Some shops confirm bookings automatically; others need a professional to accept them. The service is only guaranteed once the booking is confirmed.
  • You can have at most 2 active bookings per shop.
  • You can reschedule within the shop's cutoff. You cannot cancel online on your own: to cancel, request a code on your booking and tell it to the professional, who cancels the booking for you.
  • If you cannot attend, tell the shop as early as possible. No-show rules are the shop's own.
  • Your full identity only becomes visible to the professional 10 minutes before the appointment.

4. Prices and payments

Service prices are set by each shop and include applicable taxes. You pay for the service directly at the shop. Haircutz does not receive the payment for the service or your card details.

Shops buy prepaid credits from Haircutz (each booking made through the platform uses one credit). That payment is an agreement between the shop and Haircutz; we do not charge you anything.

5. How we list shops

Shops are listed alphabetically by name. No shop pays to appear first, and reviews do not change the order.

6. Reviews

  • Only someone with a confirmed booking at the shop can review it: after the service we send a personal, single-use link to the booking's email. We do not pay or give anything in exchange for reviews.
  • Reviews must be truthful and respectful. The shop may reply publicly.
  • We may hide reviews that are unlawful, false, offensive or reveal third parties' personal data. When we do, we email the author the reasons, and the author can contest by replying to that email.

7. Reporting content and point of contact

If you find a review or other content you believe is unlawful, use the “Report” link next to the review or write to [email protected], saying where the content is and why you believe it is unlawful. We handle each report diligently, decide objectively, and inform both the reporter and the author.

This email is also Haircutz's single point of contact for users and authorities under the Digital Services Act (EU) 2022/2065. We answer in Portuguese and English.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use the platform for unlawful purposes, try to access other people's accounts or data, bypass security measures, make fake or bulk bookings, or disrupt the service. We may suspend or close accounts that do, and we tell you why.

9. Liability

We work to keep the platform available but do not guarantee it will run without interruption. We are not responsible for the quality, delay or non-provision of services by shops.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that Portuguese law gives to consumers, or liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force is always shown at the top of this page and, for a material change, we will email you before it takes effect.

11. Complaints and dispute resolution

  • You can file a complaint in the Electronic Complaints Book (Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico) at https://www.livroreclamacoes.pt/Inicio/, or write to us at [email protected].
  • For a consumer dispute you can turn to the alternative dispute resolution body CNIACC — Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo (https://www.cniacc.pt). For disputes up to €5,000, arbitration is mandatory for us if you request it (Law 63/2019). More at the Consumer Portal, www.consumidor.gov.pt.
  • These terms are governed by Portuguese law.
